Our story

Personalized rehab, born from the Rockies.

For over a decade, Caring Hands Rehab has been Cañon City's trusted home for outpatient physical and occupational therapy. We're not a hospital wing or a corporate chain — we're a small, family-run clinic where every patient is seen by the same therapist, in a private room, for the full length of their visit.

Our team treats orthopedic, neurologic, women's pelvic, pediatric, and post-surgical conditions with the same belief that's guided us since day one: healing happens faster when care is personal.

Why Caring Hands

Personal care that's hard to find anywhere else.

Hospitals and chains can feel rushed and impersonal. We built our clinic differently — and our patients feel the difference from the first visit.

Same therapist, every visit

You'll work with the same licensed therapist from your first evaluation through your final session — no rotating staff, no starting over.

Private treatment rooms

Every session is one-on-one in a private, quiet room — not on an open gym floor surrounded by other patients.

Locally owned and operated

A family-run Cañon City clinic — not a corporate chain. Decisions about your care are made here, by people who live here too.

No referral required

Colorado is a direct-access state. Skip the extra doctor visit and get started faster — most plans don't require a referral.

Same-week appointments

We respect your time. Most patients can be seen for an initial evaluation within a week — often sooner.

Both PT and OT under one roof

Whether you need physical rehab, occupational therapy, or both, we coordinate it all in one place — no juggling clinics.

After my knee replacement, I was worried I'd never hike again. Six weeks at Caring Hands and I was back walking the Riverwalk pain-free. They listened, they were patient, and they got results.

I was nervous about pelvic floor therapy, but they made me feel respected and informed from the very first visit. The private rooms made a huge difference. I'm so glad I found them.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions.

If you don't see your question here, give us a call — we're happy to help.

Do I need a physician's referral for physical therapy in Colorado?

No. Colorado is a direct-access state, which means you can see a licensed physical therapist without a referral from your doctor. A small number of insurance plans still require one, so we recommend calling us at (719) 345-4097 to verify your specific coverage before your first appointment.

What insurance does Caring Hands Rehab accept?

We are certified providers for Medicare and Medicaid, and we accept most major insurance plans. If you don't see your plan listed, please call us — we make every effort to verify your benefits before your first visit so there are no surprises.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Please bring:

  • A photo ID
  • Your insurance card
  • Any physician referral or surgical reports if applicable
  • A list of current medications
  • A written description of your symptoms or goals

Wear comfortable clothing that allows access to the area being treated.

How long does a physical therapy session last?

Most sessions are 45 to 60 minutes. Your initial evaluation may run slightly longer to give your therapist time to assess your condition, discuss your goals, and build your personalized treatment plan.

What conditions do you treat?

We treat a wide range of orthopedic, neurologic, and pain-related conditions, including back and neck pain, sciatica, arthritis, post-surgical recovery, sports injuries, rotator cuff and shoulder problems, TMJ disorder, plantar fasciitis, pelvic floor dysfunction, stroke recovery, balance and vestibular disorders, workers compensation injuries, and pediatric developmental conditions.

How quickly can I get an appointment?

We offer same-week appointments whenever possible. Call (719) 345-4097 or submit our online appointment request and we'll get back to you within one business day.
