Physical therapy built around you.

Personalized one-on-one physical therapy in Cañon City. Whether you're recovering from injury, easing chronic pain, or returning from surgery, we'll design a treatment plan around your goals — not a generic protocol.

Overview

What we treat with physical therapy.

Physical therapy is the science of restoring movement. When pain, injury, or surgery limits how you live, a licensed physical therapist can identify what's actually going wrong — and design a recovery plan that gets you back to doing the things you love.

At Caring Hands Rehab, every patient receives a full one-on-one evaluation in a private treatment room. We don't hand you off to a tech or rotate you through an open gym floor. Your therapist stays with you from your first session to your last.

We treat patients of all ages — from teenage athletes to retirees rebuilding strength after surgery — across the full spectrum of orthopedic, neurologic, and chronic pain conditions.

Our approach

Evidence-based care, hands-on every visit.

We combine the best of modern manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and patient education — never one-size-fits-all.

Manual therapy

Hands-on techniques — joint mobilization, soft tissue release, myofascial work — to reduce pain, improve mobility, and prepare your body for active recovery.

Therapeutic exercise

Targeted strength, mobility, and stability exercises designed for your specific condition and progressed safely as you heal.

Modalities

Ultrasound, electrical stimulation, iontophoresis, and other therapeutic modalities used strategically — never as a substitute for active treatment.

Education

Understanding your condition is half the battle. We explain what's happening and exactly what you can do at home to keep progress moving.

What to expect

A clear path from first visit to final goal.

Here's what a typical course of physical therapy looks like at Caring Hands.

01

Initial evaluation

A thorough 60-minute one-on-one assessment where your therapist listens to your story, examines your movement, and identifies the source of your pain.

02

Personalized plan

Together we set clear goals and outline a treatment plan tailored to your condition, lifestyle, and timeline. You'll know exactly what to expect.

03

Active treatment

Most patients are seen 1–3 times per week. Each visit combines hands-on therapy with progressive exercise — always in a private room.

04

Home program

You leave every visit with clear, manageable home exercises. The work between sessions is often what makes the biggest difference.

05

Progress & discharge

We reassess regularly, adjust your plan as you improve, and graduate you when you've reached your goals — with a maintenance plan to stay there.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions.

What is physical therapy?

Physical therapy is a clinical, evidence-based approach to restoring movement and function. A licensed physical therapist evaluates how you move, identifies the source of your pain, and uses hands-on techniques, targeted exercises, and education to help you heal. PT can treat acute injuries, chronic pain, post-surgical recovery, sports injuries, and many neurologic and orthopedic conditions.

How long until I see results?

Many patients feel relief within their first few sessions, especially when pain is mechanical in nature. For most conditions, meaningful improvement is seen over 4 to 8 weeks of consistent therapy. Post-surgical recovery typically takes longer and follows your surgeon's protocol.

Is physical therapy painful?

Physical therapy should never cause severe pain. Some discomfort during specific exercises or manual techniques can be normal, but a good therapist works within your tolerance. Always tell your therapist if something is too painful so they can modify the approach.

Do I need a doctor's referral?

No. Colorado is a direct-access state, so you can see a licensed physical therapist without a referral. A handful of insurance plans still require one, so call us at (719) 345-4097 to verify your specific benefits.

How is Caring Hands Rehab different?

Three things set us apart: one-on-one care with the same therapist every visit, private treatment rooms instead of an open gym floor, and a locally owned, family-run team that has served Cañon City since 2010.

What should I wear?

Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows access to the area being treated. For lower-body issues, shorts work well. For shoulder or upper-body issues, a tank top or loose shirt is ideal.

Ready to begin your recovery?

Same-week appointments available. No physician referral required in Colorado. Most major insurance accepted.
