Pediatric therapy that feels like play.
Compassionate, play-based physical and occupational therapy for children — from toddlers building motor skills to teens recovering from injury. Every session is one-on-one, every plan is built around your child.
Therapy designed for kids.
Children aren't small adults. They learn through movement, exploration, and play — and pediatric therapy works the same way. Whether your child is missing developmental milestones, struggling with handwriting, recovering from a sports injury, or living with a long-term condition, the right therapy can make a profound difference.
Our pediatric program offers both physical therapy (for movement, balance, coordination, and strength) and occupational therapy (for fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living tasks). Sessions take place in our quiet, private treatment rooms — never on a chaotic open floor.
We work closely with parents, schools, and pediatricians to make sure progress at the clinic carries into every other part of your child's life.

Play-based, evidence-driven.
When therapy feels like play, kids engage — and engagement drives progress.
Play-based therapy
We use games, obstacle courses, and play activities to work on the underlying skills your child needs to build.
Parent partnership
You're the most important person in your child's development. We teach you what to do at home and how to support progress.
Sensory-friendly setting
Quiet, private treatment rooms reduce overwhelm for kids who are sensitive to noise and stimulation.
School & doctor coordination
We communicate with your child's school, pediatrician, and specialists so everyone is aligned.
Working with kids and families.
What to expect when you bring your child to Caring Hands.
Welcome visit
A relaxed first visit where your child meets their therapist and explores the space. We do assessment through play whenever possible.
Comprehensive evaluation
We assess motor skills, coordination, strength, balance, sensory processing, and the specific concerns you and your pediatrician have identified.
Goal-setting with you
Together we identify the most important goals — independence in dressing, riding a bike, throwing a ball, succeeding in school — and build the plan around them.
Active therapy
Most kids come 1–2 times per week. Sessions are 30–60 minutes depending on age, attention, and goals.
Graduation & follow-up
We discharge when your child has met their goals — with a home program and the option to return as new needs emerge.
Why families choose Caring Hands for their kids.
The personal, hometown care your child deserves.
Quiet, private rooms
No chaotic open floor. Your child can focus, regulate, and engage without sensory overwhelm.
Same therapist always
Kids thrive on familiarity. Your child works with the same therapist every visit — someone who knows them well.
Play-based methods
Therapy that feels like fun. Kids work hard when they're engaged — and engagement is what drives results.
Insurance & Medicaid
We accept Medicaid (including CHP+) and most commercial insurance for pediatric therapy services.
Frequently asked questions.
At what age can my child start therapy?
We work with children from infancy through age 18. Very young children (under 3) often qualify for early intervention services through Colorado's state program — we can help you navigate this.
Do I need a pediatrician's referral?
Most insurance plans cover pediatric PT/OT without a referral under Colorado's direct-access laws. A small number of plans still require one. Call (719) 345-4097 and we'll verify your benefits.
Should my child see PT, OT, or both?
It depends on the concerns. PT focuses on gross motor skills (walking, jumping, climbing, sports). OT focuses on fine motor and daily living (handwriting, dressing, sensory processing). Many kids benefit from both — we can evaluate and recommend.
Will my child cooperate with therapy?
Most kids actually enjoy pediatric therapy — it's play-based and designed to be engaging. Some kids take a session or two to warm up. We never force participation; we build trust first.
Can siblings come to appointments?
Absolutely. We welcome siblings and parents in sessions. Many parents stay for the full appointment, especially with younger children. We'll guide you on what works best.
Will you communicate with my child's school?
Yes, with your permission. We can coordinate with teachers, school therapists, IEP teams, and other professionals to make sure approaches are aligned across settings.
