Orthopedic rehab that rebuilds the way you move.
Expert care for the bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, and tendons that move your body. Whether it's a sports injury, a workplace strain, or post-surgical recovery — we'll get you back in motion.
What is orthopedic rehabilitation?
Orthopedic rehabilitation is the specialty area of physical therapy that addresses injuries and conditions of the musculoskeletal system — bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, and tendons. It's the most common reason people come to physical therapy, and where Caring Hands Rehab has built more than a decade of experience.
We treat the full spectrum of orthopedic conditions: fractures and post-op recovery, joint replacements, sprains and strains, tendinitis, bursitis, repetitive strain injuries, and degenerative joint conditions like arthritis. Our therapists combine hands-on manual techniques with progressive therapeutic exercise.
Whether you're a weekend warrior recovering from a ski injury, a retiree managing arthritic knees, or a worker dealing with a job-related strain — orthopedic rehab is the path back to confident, pain-free movement.

A comprehensive orthopedic approach.
We don't just chase symptoms — we address the underlying mechanics so the problem stays gone.
Manual therapy
Joint mobilization, soft tissue release, and myofascial techniques to restore mobility and reduce pain at the source.
Progressive loading
Gradually challenging healing tissues to rebuild strength and tolerance — the most important phase for preventing re-injury.
Therapeutic modalities
Ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and iontophoresis to reduce inflammation and support tissue healing when appropriate.
Movement retraining
Correcting the underlying movement patterns and postural habits that contributed to the injury in the first place.

Frequently asked questions.
What's the difference between orthopedic rehab and physical therapy?
Orthopedic rehabilitation is a specialty within physical therapy focused specifically on musculoskeletal injuries and conditions — bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, and tendons. All our therapists are licensed PTs with experience in orthopedic care.
How soon after an injury should I start orthopedic rehab?
In most cases, the sooner the better. Early intervention reduces pain, prevents stiffness, and shortens recovery time. The exception is when a fracture or surgery requires a period of immobilization — we work closely with your physician on timing.
How long does orthopedic rehabilitation take?
Simple sprains and strains often resolve in 4–6 weeks. Complex injuries, post-surgical recovery, and chronic conditions can take 3–6 months or longer. Your therapist will set realistic milestones at your initial evaluation.
Do I need a referral from an orthopedic surgeon?
No — Colorado is a direct-access state, so you can begin orthopedic rehabilitation without a physician referral. We do communicate with your surgeon if you've had surgery.
Will orthopedic rehab help my arthritis?
Yes, often significantly. While we can't reverse arthritis, we can dramatically reduce pain, improve mobility, and slow progression of symptoms through targeted exercise, manual therapy, and joint protection strategies.
Is orthopedic rehab covered by insurance?
Yes. Orthopedic rehabilitation is billed as standard physical therapy and is covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and most commercial insurance plans.
